Within the past 10 months I have had several projects completed by the people from Kempton and Self Plumbing Services, and this is say that they have done excellent work in all cases.

Late in 2024, in response to a confirmed leak in my main water supply which appeared under my front sidewalk, Charles, Ethan, and I think Trevor (with apologies if I’ve forgotten the the third fellow’s name) replaced the piping between the GRU water meter and my home with PEX-A. They cut through and worked around substantial oak tree roots which another company considered an unworkable impediment. They did a nice job, and efficiently, laying the new PEX-A line and connecting to my home existing water supply.

Early in 2025, Mike repaired a water main leak at the front of my house. This was not related to the previous piping installation of the line from the water meter to the house. In the process Mike also did a nice job creating a new insulated pipe to a replacement hose bib.

In early September 2025, Charles diagnosed a leak in the waste arm beneath my kitchen sink. He did a nice job replacing the copper pipe with PVC all the way to a main drain pipe near the washer in my garage. In the course of installing the new PVC pipe, Charles discovered - because of spacing - that he had to replace the water pipes to the sink. He also did a nice job installing those new PEX-A water lines.

My house is 58 years old. Since Kempton and Self had already replaced the main water piping to my house with PEX-A, along with the new PEX-A lines underneath my kitchen sink, Charles and I discussed re-piping the entire house with PEX-A above the ceilings. He provided me with a reasonable quotation a couple of days later.

In late September 2025, Kempton and Self Plumbing replaced all of the water pipes in my house with PEX-A lines in three and a half days. It is a 1967 vintage 3-bedroom 2-bath ranch style home with a screened back porch and a 2-car garage.

On Monday and Tuesday, Brad and Ethan did an excellent job of locating the old piping behind walls and laying out replacement lines. We had anticipated that the re-piping would require cutting out a section of bricks on my back porch and also one section of wall in my family room. However, that was never necessary, because Ethan working in my attic and Brad downstairs were tireless in their efforts to identify ideal locations for the lines dropping from above ceiling to supply each bathroom’s shower, toilet, and sink. The final installations required only small holes cut in panels beneath the sinks and behind one wall mounted medicine cabinet. I can only imagine the extra work and expenses which were saved by Brad’s and Ethan’s tenacity in precisely locating positions for those new water lines. On Wednesday, the only day when water was shut off to my house, Corey joined Brad and Ethan to complete the installation of the new PEX-A water lines, new shower fixtures, toilet supplies, and so forth. Thursday was a half day of finishing insulation above the garage, installing a new hose bib with a water shut-off valve, and so forth.

All of that work over the past ten months was done conscientiously, expertly, and as best I can tell at a very fair price.
